Education and License Requirements

  1. Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology or related field


Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the exercise component of patient’s therapy in Cardiopulmonary Rehab Services.
  2. Assess and evaluate effects of exercise on patient care.
  3. Plan and implement exercise guidelines for each patient.
  4. Educate patients emphasizing cardiac risk modifications and benefit of physical activity in regards to lung function and other body systems.
  5. Maintain an accurate chart record for each patient.
  6. Continue education annually through in-service and seminar attendance to upgrade professional skills pertinent to Cardiopulmonary Rehab
  7. Contribute to a positive unit environment.
  8. The employee agrees to comply with the Corporate Compliance Policy and all laws, rules, regulations and standards of conduct relating to the position and has a duty to report any suspected violations of the law of standards of conduct to his or her immediate supervisor, the Compliance Officer or the Chief Executive Officer
  9. Coordinate/supervise employee exercise program.

10. May work with pediatric, adult or geriatric patients.



  1. Current CPR and ACLS certifications. 
  2. Preferred experience in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation.


Reporting Relationships

  1. Reports to the Supervisor, Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Services


Working Conditions

  1. Works in clean, well-ventilated, well-lighted and heated building.
  2. Works with cardiac and pulmonary patients and Adult/Pediatric weight management patients which may produce a high-level of stress and/or mental fatigue.
  3. Work may require occasional exposure to communicable disease.


Essential Functions

  1.  Active duty, heavy lifting required, lifting up to 100 lbs. shared weight.  Greater lifting may be required in emergency situations.
  2. Able to demonstrate exercise equipment and perform cardiopulmonary rehab exercises.
  3. Physical demands include: walking, standing, and sitting up to 100% of the time.
